Motivation Factors There are many factors that motivate the community members to attend Arts in Your Neighborhood (AYN). Some of the factors are, but not limited to, Situational Factors, Internal Factors, and External Factors. Situational Factors Physical Surroundings  In this case, physical surroundings may refer to the place where the programmes are being conducted. Even though Woodlands may be the anchor location for this event, there are still programmes ongoing around Singapore which include Ang Mo Kio, Tampines, and Bedok. This will surely attract the community members to attend as it is convenient for them. The programme is conducted right at their doorstep and is tailored just for them. This is a strong pull factor of AYN.  Social Surroundings  This refers to the social setting in the environment where the attendee resides in. National Arts Council (NAC) develops and supports the arts in Singapore in various different ways. The NAC supports and gives exposure to strong artists and arts groups who span all art forms. This gives them a chance to showcase their artworks and thus, impressing the audiences. Financial Grants  The NAC provides grants for organizations and projects relating to the arts. This will improve the camaraderie between community members and thus, promote interaction in public spaces. Community arts events are also to improve struggling communities by engaging youths in the said community. It must not be overlooked and cannot be left to parents and schools alone. 1.1 Placing Home: Woodlands Arts in Your Neighborhood (AYN) is an arts experiences that are available for everyone at their doorsteps. It is an initiative by the National Arts Council (NAC). These arts experiences are by established artists and art groups and are held at various spaces across the islands. AYN is held twice a year in March and in November. This time, Woodlands is selected as the anchor neighborhood for the staging of this event.  Objectives AYN's objective is simple. This event aims to provide enriching arts experiences for everyone right at their doorstep. It consists of various interactive arts programmes that are available to everyone in Singapore.
